Meet the Artist

JOY'S UNIVERSE

It started with a ukelele

I’ve always been passionate about music but my becoming as a musician started with my first encounter with the ukulele. I met a woman who played ukulele, who later became a friend, and she showed me how simple it was and inspired me to start playing. I had always dreamed of being able to accompany my voice with an instrument and had finally found the right fit! Easy to travel and joyful. So I started singing at the same time, learning songs online. I loved the challenge and it soon became a hobby.

After learning a lot of covers, I started getting the hang of it and composing my own songs. I mostly shared my music in the metro in Montreal back in those days, with a few performances in open mics. I really loved it, it gave a voice to my soul. I felt like I was being seen for who I really was! After 9 years of this, and bringing the ukulele everywhere with me in my travels as a best companion, I decided it was time that I record my music and make it all official! I am a musician!

Medicine folk music

If I were to describe my music, I would say it is Medicine Folk music, which I sing in both English and French. It is soft and melodious, straight from my heart to yours. It carries the wisdom of my life experiences and focuses on a positive outcome. My main inspirations have been Fia, Peia, Ayla Schafer and Rising appalachia.

The reason I want to share my music with the world is because I think my experiences have value, and that they are worth hearing. They often give hope and remind us of what is essential in life. Make us feel less alone. Ultimately, music is a language that speaks to the heart and I want to infuse yours with joy so we can all feel good together!

The Jamhouse connection

I’ve known the Jamhouse for quite some time now and was called to join the late night jammers a few times over the years. My real connection with the Jamhouse and the Jamhouse Records started when I met Emma Anders, who I'd known about for a long time before actually connecting with her! It was clear to me that I wanted to record my music with her and now I know why. What a light beam in this world she is! After recording my album with her, we started hosting Sacred Feminine retreats together at the Jamhouse with Juliette Normandin. This was the start of a beautiful, sacred, intimate sisterhood and now the Jamhouse walls hold so many good memories for me!

I released my music with Jamhouse Records in 2022, and have since done numerous shows in festivals and events (Shazam, Essence, Love N Light, Enfanter l’Évolution, Brise Culturelle de Sherbrooke, etc). You can find my music on Bandcamp, Spotify and Youtube and follow my artistic journey on facebook! Links below.

Joy to the world!

If I am to share more about myself, here is what you need to know: I am passionate about art and well-being and the interconnection between the two!

I am a professional body painter, a licensed massage therapist, a retreat organizer (often times Artistic Retreats), a poet, a dancer, a hula hoop circus artist, a guide for cacao ceremonies as well as a guide for creative workshops with kids! My mission is to bring joy in the world through art, beauty, love, and connection.
