About the Song

 

"Fly Spirit Fly'came to me in a deeply meditative state. I had learned about the passing of a person I didn’t personally know, but felt compelled to sing for them. I grabbed my guitar and began strumming some chords, and the song poured through me without a thought - I felt like I had received the words from the depths of my heart. I kept the song to myself for many months, until I felt the song coming through in intimate, ceremonial spaces. The song carried listeners to deeply healing emotional states, including myself. It wasn’t long before dear friends of mine, and sometimes strangers, began asking where they could listen to a recording of this song. It became clear to me that Fly Spirit Fly needed to be shared on a wider scale.

This song, for me, has two meanings. On one hand, the song is a hymn to loved ones who have passed on, making their soul journey to the beyond. On the other hand, the song holds a message for all living beings: to surrender into trust and embrace their highest potential; to let go of fears of the mind in order to truly  f l y."
