About the song 

 

“The truth waits for eyes unclouded by longing.” 

 

I moved to Montreal with my partner in the throes of the pandemic. We were greeted here by a bitingly cold, yet gentle winter storm. I remember lugging our suitcases over the mounds of snow piled up in the street to a quaint ground-floor apartment where we’d stay until we found a long-term spot. It was a new chapter.

Without a social circle to lean on that winter, I took to long strolls in Laurier Park while listening to Ram Dass talks. On most days, I’d find myself walking in slow circles around Laurier park, swimming in paradox amidst the big change we were living out. 

 

The tides of life had risen and swept me up. Solitude and quiet opened doors to the unknown. Ram Dass colored that quiet with words and wisdom, inviting me to welcome all shapes and colors of this life to come. 

 

This song was born out of those quiet walks; an ode to the place where I first felt at home in this city.
